Rev. Jim Bass has been the Senior Pastor of Friendswood Methodist since his appointment in June 2006. Previous to coming to Friendswood, Jim has pastored churches in Alvin, East Texas, West Houston, and Beaumont. His greatest passion in ministry is to take the truths of God’s Word and show how they apply to daily life today. He graduated from Southwestern University with a degree in history and minor in Greek. He received his Masters of Divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology at SMU. Perhaps Jim’s greatest strength is his wife Debbie, to whom he has been married for the past thirty years. They have two grown sons, Jeremy and Jason, each pursing God’s calling into ministry. When not engaged in ministry, Jim enjoys kayak fishing, reading and relaxing at the beach, and spending time with Debbie in Galveston.

Rev. Howard Huhn serves as our Executive Pastor overseeing the staff and facilities of Friendswood Methodist. A native Houstonian, he has a B.A. from the University of Texas and an M.Div. from Asbury Seminary. Howard is married to Krystal and they have two children. Krystal is a local realtor with Stanfield Properties. They are both very active in the community, particularly with the Friendswood Band. Howard is a published author and maintains a personal blog at He has served in full time ministry since 1999 and is the 2006 recipient of the Copeland Award for Evangelism by the Texas Annual Conference.

Rev. Rosemary Dubois has served as the Pastor of Congregational Care at Friendswood Methodist since 2007. Before coming to Friendswood Methodist she has served churches in Port Arthur, Deer Park, League City, and Galveston.  Rosemary graduated from Lamar University with a degree in education and a specialization in music. She also attended Perkins School of Theology at SMU and St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, MO to complete course work for both Certification in Christian Education and Licensing as a Local Pastor. Rosemary has a passion for organizing and training laity to reach out and serve those who are facing difficult times in their lives. She can be spotted offering pastoral care in the many hospitals, rehabs and nursing homes in the surrounding areas and has even been known to do hospital visits in Kenya and Israel. Rosemary and her husband, Terry, enjoy traveling abroad and especially serving as tour directors for groups traveling to the Holy Land.

Rev. Gale Towns is a second career pastor in the United Methodist Church. He went under appointment in 1999 and has served three United Methodist Churches; Mission Bend, Faith-Richmond, and Friendswood. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Houston-Clear Lake. He oversees the Missions Outreach for the church which includes over 20 ministry areas, focusing heavily on children and families.  While many of these outreaches are local, others extend literally around the world. He is a Chaplain for the Friendswood Police Department.  He also serves on the South District’s District Leadership Team for Disaster Relief.

Rev. Terry L. Bebermeyer is a Deacon in the United Methodist Church and has served as Minister of Music at Friendswood United Methodist Church since 1993. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Voice from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from The University of Kansas.  He has served United Methodist Churches in Ponca City, Oklahoma, Amarillo, Texas, and Houston, Texas.  He has also has served on boards at the district and conference level of the Board of Ordained Ministry.
