I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.
Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciple,
if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way
you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

It is the mission of our Caring Ministry to strengthen and encourage one another by providing care for God’s children. We have a variety of programs and ministries to help extend the love of Christ through life’s difficult times.

Receiving Care - We are called to care for one another. It is during life’s challenges that we need to fully experience the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.  If you and your family are facing difficulty and need the help of our church family, please contact the church at 281.482.7535.

Providing Care - We are called to become Christ’s servants on earth. The men and women who serve in our many caring ministries are vital to our community of faith. If you are interested in assisting with one of our ministries, please contact the church at 281.482.7535.

CARING MINISTRIES

Stephen Ministry
This ministry provides dependable, one-to-one, caring Christian friends who really listen and are committed to walking alongside a hurting person.

Cancer Network
Coordinator: Patsy Moore
Have you just received a call from your doctor and told that you or a loved one has cancer? Are you overwhelmed with the thought of the journey that you and your family are now beginning? We have a group of Cancer Survivors who would like to help you by offering one-on-one physical, emotional, and spiritual support. While their experience will not be exactly what you will encounter it can be helpful to have someone to talk to who has walked a similar path. It can help calm your fears as you hear what their experience was like for testing and treatments.

Caregivers Network
Leaders: Scott and Donna Hanson
Do you need ideas on how to ensure the best quality of life for yourself as a caregiver? Would you like to share resources and ideas on how best to care for that special person? This support group gives you a place where you can build relationships with others who understand your concerns.

The Caregivers Network meets monthly in conjunction with the Memory Care Ministry - The Gathering Place.

Healing Services
Leaders: Rosemary Dubois, Elaine Goddard and Bobby Johnson
Are you suffering from or living with a physical, mental, or emotional condition? Do you want to be healed? If so, we are here to offer help and hope through prayer. If you would like to schedule a time to come to the church and have others pray for you about any concerns you may have please contact Rosemary Dubois, Pastor of Congregational, rosemary@friendswoodmethodist.org .

Services of Prayer for Healing are held twice a year. What will you experience at this service? Soft music, scripture, a testimony of healing, Holy Communion, and prayers for healing and wholeness. Each person decides if they want to pray alone or with a prayer team, if they want to be anointed with oil or not. The Service of Prayer for Healing provides an opportunity for us to still our spirits before God, to rest and glory in His presence, and to be made whole. Come and experience the healing that can occur in such a Spirit-filled setting.
