Children are precious at Friendswood UMC.

Friendswood Methodist believes the best strategy for reaching and equipping the next generation for Christ is a partnership that overlays the best of the church and the best of the home. We believe that working together parents and churches can have a greater impact on the spiritual lives of their children.

The orange philosophy comes from the belief that two influences combined can have a greater impact than either influence alone.  We look at the home as a place of unconditional love and nurturing in the life of a child.  The “heart” of the home is represented by the color Red. The church teaches the truths of God’s Word and focuses on Jesus, the light of the world.  So, the “light” of the church is represented by the color Yellow.  When we combine the red heart with the yellow light, the result is ORANGE!

3rd Grade Bible Presentation

Dear Third Grade Parents,

Friendswood United Methodist Church has a long history of presenting our 3rd graders with Bibles.  We pray this is an exciting event in the life of your child and family.  Presentation of the Bibles is at a special luncheon on Sunday, January 13th in the Wesley Hall at 12:05 following the 11:05 a.m. worship service hour.  Please join us for food and fellowship as we celebrate this important milestone in the lives of our 3rd graders.  We have included a Bible Order Form, which we ask that you complete by Wednesday, January 11th, so that we can ensure that your child’s name is printed correctly in the Bible.  Siblings and other family members are welcome to attend as well.  Please be sure to provide us with an accurate head count. Please email Hillary@friendswoodmethodist.org or call 281.482.7535 ext.: 103 to confirm.

3rd After-school Bible CLUB (REGISTER HERE)
Making the Bible My Own  “Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God's way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.” 2 Timothy 3:16

Our 3rd grade Bible Club is designed to intentionally teach third graders the importance of the Bible as the Word of God by allowing them to:

  1. Experience activities which result in a working knowledge of the parts of the Bible and the ability to look up a Bible reference easily and quickly.
  2. Hear Bible stories and realize the Bible heroes and heroines are the characters whose stories appear on the pages of their Bible.

We begin meeting Wednesday, January 16 @ 4:00 – 5:30 in room F-207.  Each week we will gather for snacks and social time until 4:30. Our lesson is from 4:30 to 5:30.  Parents can sign up to bring snacks for one of the weeks.

I will need someone to help me facilitate the class each week.  Please contact me if you’re interested in helping.   leeann@friendswoodmethodist.org

Please complete online registration before January 16th.  I look forward to having each one of your children and know we are going to have a great year!!  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me at 281.482.7535 (Friendswood Methodist) or 832.477.8806 (la cell).
