Do you enjoy music? Ever wonder what musical gifts God has blessed you with?
Friendswood Methodist Music Ministry presents Jesus and Music Camp for all those looking to explore their musical gifts and learn about how to SERVE through MUSIC. Camp hours are Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 2 pm and Friday 9am – Noon. On Friday, we open camp to parents and family so campers can showcase what they have learned and present our JAM Camp MUSICAL! We can’t wait to share our love of JESUS and MUSIC with you this summer.

JAM Camp Class Options 2017
chime champions (grades 1–3)
Come rock rhythms like a real champ as you learn to ring chimes in time with your friends. No previous musical experience necessary as we explore basic music reading and ringing techniques.
jammin’ percussion (grades 1–3)
Learn the basics of rhythm and musical notation while learning to play fun percussion instruments such as drums, xylophones, tambourines, shakers, rhythm sticks and boomwhackers.
music in motion (grades 1–3)
Enjoy the exploration of music from all over the world as you move to the sound of new rhythms. Consider it a musical expedition: we will dance, sing, move and groove to all kinds of music.
orchestra live! (grades 1–3)
Enjoy getting up close and personal with each family of the orchestra: woodwinds, brass, strings and percussion. Children will see live demonstrations of instruments, get to touch, hold, and even play some instruments and play fun games as they learn to identify the various characteristics of the orchestra.
karaoke praise! (grades 1-6)
Singing is fun! Learn good vocal skills, microphone technique and fun praise songs while singing along with music karaoke style.
u play ukulele (grades 3-6)
Want to strum your way into a musical day? Try your hand at this four-stringed fun! Learn simple chords and techniques for playing the ukulele.
rhythm ringers (grades 4–6)
Take the music challenge and try your hand at ringing bells. Playing handbells can be challenging, but tons of fun! Come learn basic ringing skills as well as fun, new techniques.
viva la violin (grades 4-6)
Ever wish you could actually be a part of the orchestra? Here’s your chance to see what it is about. Come explore beginner techniques and simple songs on violin.
hallelujah hand drums (grades 4-6)
Can you keep the beat? Bust out your best rhythm skills and learn to play in ensemble with your friends. This hand drumming class will explore how to mix simple rhythm patterns to create an inspiring sound.
groovin’ guitar (grades 5–6)
Become a star! Play the guitar! Well, you are already a star in God’s eyes. But we can help with the guitar part…come learn beginner techniques and simple chords to strum along with.
lights, camera, action (grades 4-6)
Now is your chance to step out on that stage! Want to participate in the action of this year’s JAM Camp musical? This session is for kids interested in speaking parts or singing solos in the musical. To participate in this class, you must attend all days of camp and a brief parent meeting Sunday, July 9 at 1:00 pm.
