This past Sunday, we were reminded of a simple but powerful question from the Wesleyan tradition: How is it with your soul? It’s a very different question from the one we ask each other all the time: “How are you?” Most of us know how to answer that one quickly. “I’m good.” “Busy, but good.” “Doing fine.” But “How is it with your soul?” asks us to slow down. It invites us to look beneath the surface and pay attention to what God is doing in our lives.
