Established in 1980, the Wesley Endowment Fund was born from a simple yet powerful conviction that the generosity of today's congregation can shape the faith and future of generations to come. 

MISSION STATEMENT

The Wesley Endowment Fund provides our congregation with a perpetual source of income in support of the Church’s ministries and missions, as well as providing our membership a vehicle through which to make legacy gifts to the church.

ABOUT LEGACY PLANNING

Thoughtful and faithful legacy planning helps strengthen the mission and ministry of Friendswood Methodist Church. Through generous support beyond the regular operating budget, these gifts provide lasting resources that allow our church to continue offering vibrant worship, meaningful discipleship, compassionate outreach, and life-changing ministry.  Special gifts also help expand ministry opportunities and ensure that the work of the church continues to grow and serve our community well into the future.

 

Planned and legacy gifts also allow Friendswood Methodist Church to prepare for the future. By including the church in your long-term giving plans, through a will, trust, or other charitable gift, you help plant seeds of faith that will bless generations yet to come.

What is the FMC Wesley Endowment Fund?

Founded in 1980, the Wesley Endowment Fund was established to provide for the future of this congregation’s mission to bring the life-changing power of Jesus Christ, everywhere and every day.


The decision to give to the Endowment is a spiritual commitment of loyalty and love. It is a way to continue giving and supporting Friendswood Methodist Church now and into the future.

Why do we have a church Endowment Fund?

Most large churches, such as Friendswood Methodist Church, have established
foundations or endowment funds for the purpose of expanding and securing the future ministries of the church. The Wesley Endowment Fund provides an opportunity for the current members to build for the future.


The Endowment Fund is a permanent fund which is invested to provide income that can be used to further the ministry of the church. The permanent fund also provides a degree of security in the event of unforeseen financial needs. Most of the goals for the Endowment are long-term.

What is the Endowment Fund’s mission?

The Wesley Endowment Fund provides our congregation with a perpetual source of income in support of the Church’s ministries and missions, as well as providing our membership a vehicle through which to make legacy gifts to the church.

How are the earnings of the fund to be used?

They will be used to expand the ministry of the church for years to come by providing supplemental funds to enhance the church’s programs, mission, operations and facilities.

Does the Endowment Fund replace all other funds?

No, it does not replace other funds. Such funds as the church operating budget and missions budgets are separate. The Endowment Fund is designed to permanently enrich the future life of our church.


The annual budget of our church is all-important. It is the responsibility of the congregation every year to provide for the everyday bills, salaries and programs for the
membership.
