Surf N Serve Galveston  July 4 - 7
Surf N Serve is our junior high mission trip for all 6th – 9th grade students. We will be gone July 4 – 7. This is a junior high favorite! We spend the week at a host church in Galveston where will eat, sleep, worship and fellowship together. Each day we will go out and partner with different organizations to serve the Galveston community in various ways.

We have an interactive scavenger hunt on the strand and of course it wouldn’t be surf-n-serve without surf lessons down at Galveston beach. Finally, we end this week of service and fun with a day at Schlitterbahn! I promise you this trip will not disappoint.

Registration is open now and will cost $175 per person. We have scholarships valuable for anyone who needs it so please do not hesitate to reach out to us. If you need more information on scholarships, registration or the trip itself please reach out to Chris Aleman @ chrisaleman@friendswoodmethodist.org

You are more than welcome to sign up for more than one role if you’re up for it. Thank you for being a part of kingdom student ministries, we couldn’t do it without you!

UM ARMY is a week full of worship, hard work, and great fellowship. This is by far one of the best trips we take all year. With over 100 adults and students joining us every year we spend a week at a host church and go out into the community and serve our clients through acts of service like building wheelchair ramps, porches, painting, all while cultivating meaningful relationships with our wonderful clients. In the evening we spend time together with different fun activities and outings. This is a trip for our students who will have completed 9-12th grade. Young adults and adults are encouraged to come as part of our leadership.

U.M. ARMY – Texas Conference is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with offices in La Porte, Texas. U. M. ARMY (United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth) began in 1979 with a youth mission trip to  Athens, Texas, where youth groups from several Houston churches gathered to provide home repair assistance to people in need.

Today this organization has grown to more than 30 separate missions throughout East and Southeast Texas with over 3,500 youth and adult volunteers annually. Our mission is two-fold; serving people in need, and providing young people an opportunity to mature in their faith-walk and life skills through Christian service.

Our mission is accomplished every summer when thousands of youth and adult volunteers sacrifice a week of their vacation to join God’s ARMY. Using a local Methodist church as a base where they gather to have their meals, sleep in classrooms, and worship in the Sanctuary, participants spend each day of the week providing free home repairs for low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners in the surrounding area.

UM ARMY Forms
To ensure safety of the participants, there are several standard medical, liability and waiver forms that need to be filled out prior to your student attending UM ARMY.  Please contact Chris Aleman at chrisaleman@friendswoodmethodist.org for submittal dates and requirements.
