Welcome Chris Aleman to Friendswood Ministry Staff

We are pleased to announce that Chris Aleman will join our ministry team as the Associate Director of Student Ministries.

Chris is 25 years old and grew up in Kingwood. While he didn't grow up in the church, he always considered himself be a Christian. It wasn't until the end of his sophomore year of high school when he met his future wife Marisa and she invited him to church that he learned about having a real relationship with Christ. After that he and Marisa began pursuing that relationship with God, digging into the word together and growing in their faith.

After graduating high school, Chris started working at Kingwood United Methodist church in the maintenance department while going to school for psychology. Kingwood UMC changed his life tremendously and showed him and his wife the value of a good church home. It was there that Chris got his first glimpse of what youth ministry was. While helping at his first youth retreat he felt the call of the Holy Spirit and knew right then and there that this is what God was calling him to. Chris has now been in full time student ministry for 4 years. He is currently serving as the student ministries director at Hardy Memorial UMC in Texarkana.

Marisa lived in Dallas up until 4th grade and spent the rest of her childhood growing up in Houston. She is a certified cosmetologist and is passionate about Jesus. She desires to grow in Christ more daily and is excited to do that with this new church family.

Chris and Marisa got married in May of 2016 at Kingwood UMC and just celebrated their third anniversary. They are excited to be moving back to the Houston area to be close to family, friends and be a part of a new church home.

Chris will begin his ministry here Sunday, August 18.

Grace and peace,
Jim
