New Sermon Series Begins January 12
Mon, December 16, 2019
Living a Christian life in the world can be hard today, especially as our culture becomes more and more secular. It seems sometimes as if we are living as strangers in our own land. Sometimes co-workers, friends and even family members are not only indifferent to your faith, they may even be hostile to it as the pressure to conform and fit in grows stronger and stronger. In this world, you’ll have struggles. You’ll face opposition. You’ll be challenged. And there’s a reason for that: this world is not your home. We are indeed like foreigners living in a country not our own.
The Apostle Peter wrote a letter to Christians in his own time dealing with the same struggle. He encouraged them to live differently. We seem different than the prevailing world around us because we are. We are living for another world. We serve a different ruler. And our citizenship belongs to a kingdom. In this first sermon series of 2020, based on I Peter, Pastor Jim will explore how Peter’s words to the first century Christians apply to us today, and how you’re meant to be…DIFFERENT.
