New Online Worship Services
Fri, March 20, 2020
Dear Church Family,
The word “social distance” has become part of our everyday vocabulary in the past few weeks, as we all work together to slow and flatten the curve of the covid-19 virus. We are living in a new normal for the time being. We face difficult and challenging days ahead, but the Lord will see us through as he has done so before. We serve a great God!
The Board of Stewards has suspended all worship services, meetings, and other programs through Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020. We will evaluate Holy Week and Easter services based on the recommendations of government and health professionals.
Although we are not able to come together in person for a while, we can still pray together, believe together, and band together in spirit.
Join us agin this Sunday, we will offer two online worship experiences that will be streamed on Facebook Live or on our website. You can view these online worship services at our church Facebook page — https://www.facebook.com/friendswoodumc/. The services will remain available on Facebook and will also be able to be viewed later on our website. The pastors, music leaders, and AV team have worked hard this week to bring this worship experience into your home. Both worship services will last about 45 minutes.
- 9:45 am — Celebrate Service, led by Tippy David and members of Celebrate Worship Team.
- 11:00 am — Traditional Service, led by Rev. Terry Bebermeyer and Lonnie Tanner.
Jim be bringing a message at both times on “Courage!” We will look at what that word means as we confront the fears of the covid-19 outbreak, and see what God tells us directly to do.
Although we can’t gather to worship person in the Sanctuary, we can join together in the sanctuary of our homes to worship the Lord, who binds all together as His people through the Holy Spirit.
I hope to “see you” on Sunday.
Grace and peace,
